We had a shoot scheduled for Monday night and my sweet little Sully was sick. We rebooked for Wednesday and a storm was in the forecast. Kim and Conrad showed up that night as the rain fell from the sky. They were troopers. I was up for it if they were, and there was no hesitation. It actually didn't rain much during the entire shoot, was the weather gave us lovely light and a lovely rainbow as seen in my last post.

I don't photograph that often these days, but when I do it's oh so rewarding. Here are some of my favorite shots.

A few weeks back I was contracted to shoot the U of S. Nothing in particular, just building up their photo library. So fun! There have been, and are, a lot of reno's at the university right now. The library is beautiful (they even have a starbucks). And the Pac is great too, though not as new. The Monday after Sully was born we had family pictures done. I had phoned Justin of jgphotography.ca about 1 week before Sully's due date. We had no idea it would be 3 weeks yet before he was born! Justin was on red alert and waiting, as was I. Finally the day came and Justin came over to take wonderful photos that I will treasure forever!!

Our newest arrival! We welcomed Sullivan to our family on December 27th, 2009. It was a long wait, 14 days after due date. I shouldn't have been surprised, Jack took the same amount of time making his entrance. It was a wonderful birth and now we are more blessed than ever!

I have been taking a break and hanging with my man Jack for the last few months. Well not completely, but I have let a few things slip. That's what happens when your creating a person. I am actually having a wonderful Braxton Hicks right now, I love them. This last month of pregnancy is going to fly by and I need to stop time.

I first met Jana at the 2nd ave sidewalk sale about 6 years ago. Since then we have photographed her many times and now with her family. This shoot was SO fun! And I am so happy with the images.

Still loving that old studio. I am back borrowing my old studio from Lisa of Affinity Photography. She is kind to rent to me. I was in there for 6 years and loved it! Think Pink

While shooting at the college of medicine a few months back, Annette and I decided that we should do a fundraising campaign for breast cancer. I had always wanted to do a 'mother daughter sister friend' shoot with all the proceeds going to cancer. Being that it is Breast Cancer awareness month, we thought this was a perfect time. Here are Annette and I, the brains behind the operation.

I would like to thank everyone who came out and donated money to our cause, and in doing so got a lovely portrait out of the deal. Here are a few on my favorites:

I have to take a moment to talk about my mom. My mom is pretty special for many reasons. For example, yesterday she defrosted my freezer, cared for my son, and cooked a ham for me. Then came and got a photo with me and helped me carry out my equipment. Of course, all without complaint. When I phoned to thank her in the evening, she finds a way to turn it around and thank me for something. Part of the reason for me wanting to do this is that my mom got diagnosed with cancer 1 1/2 years ago. It's not breast cancer for her, but no matter the cancer we can all relate.
So you ask, how much do I love my mom? Words could never express. She is so beautiful. Here we are yesterday, enjoying each other.

This family and I definitely have a history. I first photographed Stacey and Cory at their wedding. I was assisting Fran Lambie of Lambie Photography. Stacey was the most beautiful bride and I felt honored to be a part of her wedding. It was also one of Fran's and my first weddings. All shot on film of course! Fran has always been their families photographer, but now that she has moved I have the honor. They sure do take lovely photos.

Spending time with my wedding couples is so important to me. As their photographer you are with them for one of the most important days of their lives. Beautiful People

It's funny that no one knows how beautiful they really are. Everyone comes to the photoshoot with lots of reasons why the pictures may not turn out. It's never that way, they always turn out amazing. I love capturing the beauty that my friends don't always see in themselves. Tanis and Mike are SO photogenic, although I am sure they wouldn't admit it. The pictures prove it.

Family Shauf

Last week I spent some time with Lisa's extended family in the park and by some colorful buildings. This week Lisa (www.affinityphoto.blogspot.com/) wanted some images of just her immediate family. We decided water would be the way to make little ones smile. There was a nice patch of sand by the train bridge and we took advantage. They were great, didn't mind getting really wet and really dirty.
